Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop #81

We started escrow on our new little fixer-upper homestead and I am going to be off grid quite a bit for the next several weeks as we pack, move and supervise repairs on the new place, but I know none of us want to miss Farmgirl Friday so Deb has graciously agreed to decorate my blog with her wonderfully inspiring posts when I am unable to gain access to internet service during our transition from point A to point B.  Thank you Deb!  I will check in as often as I can so I don't miss anything...  Here's this week's post straight from Deb.

Welcome to The ORIGINAL Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop # 81!

Your place to strut your farmgirl know how from the kitchen, garden, craft room, farmyard, or barnyard!
Farmgirl Friday is hosted by:
Dolly of Hibiscus House
and yours truly.

It was a crazy week with hurricane Sandy wreaking havoc along the eastern seaboard causing devastating life changes for thousands of people. We were fortunate along the shorelines in Massachusetts and our thoughts and prayers go out to our friends who were not so lucky in New York and New Jersey. We are hopeful for a speedy recovery for all who were adversely effected by the storm and that life returns to some resemblance of normal SOON!

Onwards and upwards with the Farmgirl Friday news and features! I love looking at all of your entries each week. I am always inspired, sure to get a giggle or two and a new recipe or craft idea to try here at Dandelion House. It's no surprise with the upcoming election and the current state of our economy that the three most clicked posts this week were about sustainable self- sufficiency and frugal living.

Here are your top three most read posts!

Live Ready Now wrote an inspiring account on their first year of Off Grid Living
from acquiring the land they homestead on to making it a home. AMAZING!

Learning and Earning looks back at their early years as homesteaders and shares where those first sparks of inspiration for their homesteading dreams came from. Foxfire Books are on their reading list for boning up on some old fashioned homesteading know how.

    1. Hi Donna. Our home sold in less than 8 hours Friday. Without ever being listed in the MLS. What a miracle! So, the girls will be moving to a new coop, but I promise it will be roomy eventually. The nice people that bought our home even added a condition to the sale to leave her 3 hens, the coop, and the little white arbor Jerry made at the entry to the coop. How neat is that? God is certainly watching over us and guiding our path.

    1. Thanks Candy. You won't believe it, but our current house sold before we even had the chance to finish signing our documents to list it for sale. It never made it to the MLS. Our agent had clients she thought would like it so she brought them over and they bought it. Talk about answered prayer. We expected to be sitting on this place for at least a year...
