The Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop #129

LIVING HISTORY
Last Saturday we headed out to explore more of our new community.  The local historical museum hosts an annual event they call Living History Day.  What a FUN adventure!

We parked our car and meandered along a dirt path passing antique farm implements, a recently acquired historic home, and men and women dressed in period costume.

Our journey ended at a vintage faire featuring demonstration booths where we observed artisans plying their crafts.

We saw a local saddleryman/leatherworker busy at work decorating a beautiful western themed belt.

We were captivated by beautiful wood-turned bowls and centerpieces made by one of our numerous talented neighbors, Anne.  Her pieces are natural beauties.

-And then we saw my favorite weaving artist... Nikki Crain demonstrating a weaving loom.  I was mesmerized watching her.

WOW is her work fabulous.

We were fortunate enough to have a tour of her studio this spring.  I hope to take classes from her eventually.  Once we get things all settled into place around here...

You can read all about Nikki HERE on her website and maybe even find the perfect gift for someone on your Christmas list.

As our adventure wound down to a close we reflected on all the wonderful art, the artifacts in the museum, and all the happy faces we encountered.  It was a GREAT day!
