We have peeps! Five baby chicks hatched over the weekend and are looking pretty healthy and energetic. These are our first hatchlings here on the farm. I am one proud grandma.
My friend is visiting this week and we are keeping plenty busy running around. On Sunday we went to a swap meet and found some nice vegetable seedlings and we even found some nice looking bare root fruit trees on clearance that we just had to bring home with us.
Today we set about to see the sights and catch a buffet lunch with my kids. We had a nice visit and ate til our tummies were sore. I came home to find the seeds for my honey bee garden in the mailbox. It was a nice day.
Tomorrow we hope to dig in the dirt if Mother Nature cooperates.
What have YOU been working on around your homestead???
Poor little one- chiggers are so bad! My dad got them one year when were were picking blackberries and I remember he had to put mom's nail polish on the bites all up and down his legs. Of course she had bright pink polish so Dad was particularly becoming for awhile!
ReplyDeleteOh, I remember chiggers from my childhood - so miserable! Poor Sugarplum. Hope she gets better soon!
ReplyDeletePoor Sugarplum I do hope she feels and gets better soon ! In all my years of owning dogs and raised on a farm I have never heard of chiggers unless we call it something else here lol ! I will have to look it up and see what it is ! Sounds like a great visit with the kids . Oh cute chicks so pretty ! Thanks for sharing with us and hosting the hop ! Have a good day and Happy First Day Of Spring !
ReplyDeleteHey looked them up ! Yeah we just call them mites ! lol
ReplyDeleteI read the post on your property, so beautiful! I said I would never leave if I lived here.
ReplyDeletePoor pup! I always think of chiggers as being a midwest problem.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the little peepers, they look great! :)
