The Country Homemaker Hop #50

Happy Wednesday Friends!

Today is demolition day #1 on our homestead...

My hubby Jerry woke up early and started tearing off exterior siding in the dining room planning to switch out an old drafty sliding glass door for a smaller double pane french door, but sometimes things do not go exactly to plan right.  Lol.  Famous last words.

We have found about 10 dry wood termite nests so far (see the frass above) and we are just getting started.  Lol.  We knew this would be a big job.  On the bright side, this will give me a chance to use all those fancy bug killing skills I spent so much time in a classroom learning.  I have got to find the main cluster yet.  Wish me luck.  I am heading under the house next.

I will report more later.  After we get a better handle on things.  Until then, have a GREAT Wednesday and I look forward to reading your new posts.  Link Up Below!

  1. Hummmm...termite hunting ~ sounds not fun to me! But it would be better to find them now than let them eat through your walls! An inside swarm would be nasty. Hope you've got good weather for your demolition days. Its rainy, cold, and nasty here in Miss.
